USEP process: university considers and approves USEP highlighted

USEP was first piloted in mid 2017.  Since then, USEP Partners have continually monitored program delivery and developed good practice through utilising the National USEP collaborative framework.

This section of the toolkit showcases the USEP program from initial concept to successfully marketing and embedding USEP into university careers services.

This background paper explores USEP related data regarding the participation and graduate employment of students with disability in the context of providing individualised, specialist graduate employment and focused services on campus (or on-line) utilising Disability Employment Services (DES) staff.

A foundational overview of USEP is provided together with related projects and environmental scans and summaries.

Students with disability are embracing and achieving success in tertiary study including demonstrating the highest growth rate as a percentage of enrolments.  However employment outcomes remain extremely low.

The USEP program focusses on addressing this inequity by providing specialised and comprehensive employment preparation supports to students with disability throughout their final year of study and beyond.
